Arlene B. Jaynes

Arlene B. Jaynes, 90, passed away July 31, 2007. She was born in Akron to the late John and Minnie (Foster) Walker and lived most of her life in the area. She retired from Peoples Drug Company and belonged to the Food Service Workers Union. What became her passion, however, was her involvement with The Blind Center. She was active for many years and even performed as a singer in their traveling music group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; brother, Richard; and sisters, Iova and Velma. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Gasparik, of FL; loving caretaker, Jean (George) Barron; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Private interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
