Ann M. Tavernese (nee Sylvester)

Ann M. Tavernese (nee Sylvester), 90, was lifted to Heaven on November 17, 2009. She was born in Akron to the late John and Adeline (Avallone) Sylvester and was a lifelong resident. She worked at General Tire and later retired from Firestone/Bridgestone. She was also a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; sisters, Grace and Carmella; brothers, Mike and John; and nephew John. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Phyllis, Joe, Sandy, Fran, Susie, Rick, Janice and Eileen; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Sylvester; and many other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Fr. Mike Williamson officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours will be for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 12 - 1 p.m.
