Dema C. Phillips

Dema C. (Schneider) Phillips, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2007. Born in Barberton, she had been an Akron resident for most of her life where she enjoyed a long career as a hair-dresser. She was also a long-time member of The Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her first husband (of over 40 years), Herbert Schneider, of Pittsburgh; second husband, Howard Phillips; parents, Russell and Irene Wade; brother, Russell; and sisters, Dorothy Morningstar, Miriam Farver and Peggy Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Tim) Single, of Massillon; son, David (Sheila) Schneider, of Lafayette, CO; grandchildren, Beth Wray, Jennifer Manske, Ed Single, and Dan Single, all of N.C., and Ben Schneider and Emily Schneider, both of CO; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Caroline and Sarah; sister, Janet (Jack) Nida, of Wadsworth; and many other loving family and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Eloy Pacheco officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, from 5 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Summa, 525 E. Market St, Akron, OH 44304.
