Donald
Paul Wirth

Donald Paul Wirth, 83, passed away October 17, 2008. Born in Akron,
he lived in Hartville for many years. Mr. Wirth was a WWll Army veteran,
serving in the Philippine Islands. He was a member of the 11th Airborne
Division and attained the rank of 1st Sergeant. Donald retired from Goodyear
Aerospace with 39 years service as the manager of maintenance and construction.
Mr. Wirth was a member of the Goodyear Retirees (maintenance and engineering)
and was honored with the Litchfield Award in 1950. He loved traveling
the world with his wife, as a member of the GMC Great Lakers and Dixielanders
Club.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Alice and Harriet; and nephew
Paul. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; daughter, Kathy
(Philip) Lehman; son, Thomas; grandchildren, Tammy (Jonallen) Riggins;
and Matthew Lehman; great grandchild, Cole Riggins; nieces, Judy (Doug)
Dotts and Carol (Harold) Kinzer.
The funeral service will be Monday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m., at the
Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev David Bittinger
officiating. Interment Hartville Mount Peace Cemetery, where military
honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #281. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 19, from 1 to
3 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
