| In Loving Memory E. Gerald Hanes E. Gerald Hanes, 89, passed away March 27, 2008 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Akron on March 8, 1919 to the late Rev. Calvin and Saloma Hanes. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a Sergeant
in the
34th Infantry "Red Bull" Division in North Africa, Sicily and
Italy. He
retired from the US Postal Service, was a life member of the Church of
God Gerald was also recognized in Ripley's Believe It or Not for having the world's largest razor blade collection. Further, he was an avid bowler, reader, and traveler and he loved entering contests. Preceded in death
by his brothers, Robert and Howard, he is survived by his
wife of 61 years, Nancy; sister, Doris Wells; children, Martha Panter,
Ernie
(Mary Ann), Tom, of Tempe, AZ, Tim (Dorothy), Patty (Chuck) Allen and
Jeff,
