Emmett C. Palmer

Emmett C. PalmerEmmett C. Palmer, 89, passed away June 6, 2007. Born in Spencer, W.V., on November 25, 1917 to the late John and Linora (Davis) Palmer, he had been an Akron resident since 1943. He was an Air Force veteran of WW II and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 31 years of service. He was also a member of AARP and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; sisters, Dorothy, Ruby and Ona; and brothers, Milford and Willard “Woody”. He is survived by his son, Charles (Mary) of Brimfield; daughter, Shirley (Gary) Cumberlidge; grandchildren, Chuck Jr. (Rose), Dave (Lorrey), Phyllis (John), and Eric (Connie); great-grandchildren, Amanda and Chad; brothers, Kermit and Wilber; sisters, Erline and Delsie; and many other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held SATURDAY, June 9, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Michael Mancari officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace cemetery where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 281. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 12 - 1 p.m.
