Gerald W. Bridger

Gerald W. Bridger, 81, passed away February 1, 2009. Born in Kenmore, he lived most of his life in the Akron area. Mr. Bridger founded, with his brothers, the Bridger Brothers Plastering Co. and later retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife Arveda, in 1994. He is survived by wife, Elizabeth; sons, Larry and Scott; daughters, Andrea (Dan) Markwood and Michelle (Matt) Burghardt; grandchildren, Merlinda, Jeremy, and Nathan Bridger, Erika Thornburg, Victoria Sinco, Matthew and Scott Burghardt; and step-son, Doug (Gale) Nichols.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Pat L. Hartson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 6 to 7 p.m.
