Glenn L. Phillips

Glenn PhillipsGlenn L. Phillips, 74, was called Home on November 21, 2006. He was born in Akron on December 8, 1931, to Reverend and Mrs. H. Ison Phillips. Glenn was faithful to his Lord, his family, his church, and his country. During the Korean War, he honorably served our nation in the United States Navy. Mr. Phillips retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1991 with 30 years of service in the Quality Control Department.

Preceded in death by his father, H. Ison Phillips, he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty Elaine; daughter, Joyce (Duane) Matthews; granddaughters, Misty and Megan; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Mackenzie, and Hayley; mother, Esther; sister, Mary Lou; brothers, James and Clyde; and many other loving family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44314, with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Massillon Ohio, where American Legion Post 281 will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, on Friday, November 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
