Harold
G. Hornor
Harold
G. Hornor, 93, passed away July 23, 2007 of heart failure a week after
hip surgery.
Born May 6, 1914 in Lewis County, W.V. to the late Inman G. and Florence
(nee Jewell) Hornor, he was a 1943 graduate of West Virginia University
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Employed by
Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, he worked 35 years in Industrial Products
Design Development retiring in 1978. Harold was an avid fisherman who
enjoyed fishing in Florida and in Lake Erie with his late brother-in-law,
Stephen E. Smith and he loved to hunt deer in West Virginia.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, William L. Hornor of Weston,
WV; and sister, Helen (nee Hornor) Lewis of Falls Church, Va. He is survived
by his wife of 57 years, Marilee (nee Smith) Hornor; his sons, Harold
Hornor, Jr. of In. and Robert Hornor (Maria) of Malabar, Fl; daughter,
Katherine Sedig (Louis) of Morrison, Il; grandchildren, Kyle Hornor,
Will, Charles, and Molly Sedig, Newlie Long (Christy) of New Orleans,
Amy Long of Orlando, Fl; two great grandsons, Wyatt Long and Zane Long;
sister, Mary K. (nee Hornor) Hall; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bowyer Hornor
both of Weston, WV; brothers-in-law, Don Smith (Linda) of Akron and Corwin
Smith (RaJean) of Peoria, Il.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5 until 8 P.M. at the Eckard Baldwin
Funeral Home, 760 East Market St. Akron, OH. Services will be held 1:00
P.M. FRIDAY at Floyd Funeral Home, 402 Main Ave. Weston, WV where friends
may call THURSDAY from 6 until 8 P.M. and one hour prior to the service
time FRIDAY. Interment at Weston Masonic Cemetery.
