Lawrence C. Harris

Lawrence C. HarrisLawrence C. Harris, 58, passed away April 10, 2007. Born and lived his life in the Akron area, Mr. Harris was a welder for Midwest Fabrications Inc. for many years. Larry was a Vietnam veteran with the 1st Infantry division “Big Red One”, were he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a lifetime DAV member, and an avid bowler, golfer, and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Clarice. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan; son, Justin; daughter and son in law, Denise (Frank) Turkovich; grandson Kyle; sisters, Beth (Bill) Brake and Alison Harris; Mother in law, Edith Lines; sister in law, Shirley (Jeff) Werner; nephews, Tim, Mike, Billy, Brian, Christopher, and Andrew; great niece, Abby; and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev. John H. Lee, officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 281. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
