Loraine (Brown) HayesLoraine left her earthly home after 101 years for her eternal heavenly abode. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, June 9, 1907, she was preceded in death by husbands, Clarence E. Brown and Donald Hayes; sisters, Marybelle Snyder, Ruth Clever, Dolly and Molly Costigan; brother, Paul Costigan, and son, Wesley (Judy) Brown She is survived by sons, James (Wanda), Donald (Orpha), and Richard Brown; step daughter, Donna (Mac) Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.

Her life was dominated by her faithful service to her Lord, her loving mates, her family, and her church. She was a constant role model, teacher, counselor, friend, confidante, spiritual mentor and guide to many teens, newly married couples and senior adults. She will be fondly remembered for her gentle, sweet spirit, her graciousness, friendliness, her beautiful smile, and her willingness to put others ahead of herself. Loraine was a long time active member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church.

Special thanks go to the staff at The Briarwood for their compassionate and tender loving care during the past 11 years. They were indeed worthy of their calling.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. SATURDAY, June 7, 2008 at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 East Market Street, with Pastor Butch Pursley officiating. Private interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service time from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. SATURDAY, June 7, 2008. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arlington Memorial Baptist Church Capital Improvement Fund, 2330 East Market Street Akron, Ohio 44312.
