Lorraine "Mickey" Jacobs

Lorraine “Mickey” (nee Fabian) JacobsLorraine “Mickey” (nee Fabian) Jacobs, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2008.

She was born in Milwaukee, WI, and served in the WAVES in World War II. Lorraine then married and lived in Akron the rest of her life. She was a long-time member of Highview Avenue Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in AWANA, VBS and Ladies Missionary Fellowship. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Jacobs, she is survived by her sons, David A. and Robert T. (Jo) Jacobs; daughters, Denise (Dewey) Hornsby and Diane (Dale) Bryant; grandsons, John, Jason, and Zachary Jacobs and Derek and Trevor Bryant; great-grandsons, Lee, Derek and Justin; great-great grandson, Jacob; sisters, Lillian (Fran) Claffey of California and Vilma (Clyde) King of Michigan; brothers, Charles (Patricia) and Richard (Catherine) Fabian of Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 1 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 East Market St., with Rev. Dennis Gamber officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 281. Friends may call at the funeral home for ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 12 – 1 p.m..
