Mary S. GoldsmithMary S. Goldsmith, 85, of Akron, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. She was born August 20, 1923 to Michael and Justina (Fesko) Spuntak in Johnston, PA. After high school, Mary moved to Akron in search of a better life and has been an Akron resident ever since. Throughout her life Mary was a dedicated servant to the Lord. She actively attended church, taught Bible studies, and volunteered. Mary was a genuinely kind-hearted person who would gladly talk to anyone who crossed her path. She cared for everyone and had a way of making all around her feel loved and accepted. To all who knew her she will be truly missed.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Peggy Goldsmith; grandchildren, Sean Goldsmith and Susanne (John) Cecil; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Gary (Tom) Goldsmith; brother, Michael Spontak; and sister, Margaret Kovach.

The funeral service will be Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev. Mike Prebyski officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home ONE HOUR prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m.
