Betty Lou "Babe" McPherson

Betty Lou McPhersonBetty Lou "Babe" McPherson, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2006. Betty was born on January 5, 1929, in Oak Hill, Ohio, and lived most of her life in Tallmadge. She graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1947 and attended Hammel Business College in Akron. Betty was a loving and caring Christian woman who always put her family and friends before herself. She was also a dedicated, life-long member of the Akron Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Elizabeth Smith and sister, Clarice Lavon Musick. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by husband of 49 years, William, and cherished daughters, Sharlene Lavon (Timothy) Husk and Carmen Sue McPherson, of Tallmadge. She also leaves to forever watch over, her grandsons and "little angels", Jordan Gregory and Skylar Vaughn Husk; step-son, William McPherson, of Barnesville Ohio; sister-in-law, Genevieve McPherson of Akron; beloved nephews, Gene (Glenda) and Dale Musick of Tallmadge, and many relatives in southern Ohio, including her cousin, Kathryn Hollback of South Webster, Ohio. Betty was also fortunate to have a dear "special grand-daughter", Shelly (Rocky) Kadilak, who we all love.

The funeral service will be Friday, January 5, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Betty's family would like to thank all our wonderful friends for their prayers, encouragement and support during our difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff of the Ann and David Brennan Critical Care Center and the staff of the Acute Palliative Care Unit of the Summa Health System for their excellent and gentle care of our precious wife, mother, and grandmother.
