Richard Dene Cogar

Richard Dene Cogar, 54, went to meet his heavenly father on January 21, 2008. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, the only son of the late Richard R. and Colin Petrovich, who survives him. He was an Army veteran of the
Vietnam War and retired from Chrysler with 18 years of service. He was also a retired member of the Akron Big Wheels and was a member of the Lynn St. Church of Christ in Parkersburg.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Audrey; daughter, Brandy, at home; sons, Richard L. and David Cogar, Timothy (Debbie) Mellinger and Dennis Allen; brothers, John and Brandon Petrovich; sisters, Colin (Ken) Whitacre and JoAnna (Donnie) Petrovich; grandchildren, Russell and Victoria, of Peoria, AZ; and many loving relatives and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Terryle Petrovich Sr. and brothers, Joseph and Terryle Jr.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008, at 3 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. James Carter and Rev. Vernon Sammons Jr. officiating. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home TODAY from 4 - 7 p.m.
