Rosa Lee HeadrickRosa Lee Headrick (nee Armstrong), 82, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Falls Village after an extended illness.

Rosa Lee was born January 27, 1925 to Jessie and Willie Armstrong of Buckhannon, WV, the oldest of six children. After moving to Akron, she worked briefly at Firestone Tire & Rubber before marrying George in 1948. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. A member of the Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church for over 50 years, Rosa Lee was active in the United Methodist Women's Groups and Hi-Z church class until her illness. She was awarded a lifetime membership to the PTA for her work with her children's schools. Rosa Lee was also an avid gardener and seamstress.

She was preceded in death by George, her husband of almost 55 years, and three brothers, Robert Armstrong, Edward Armstrong and Claude "Alan" Armstrong. She is survived by son, Donald (Donna) Headrick of Tallmadge, OH and daughters, Karen Headrick and Mary Headrick of Hawthorne, CA, Dinah (fiancé Jeff) Dolly and Carol (Karl) Moore of Akron, OH. Rosa Lee has six grandchildren; Tom (Julie) Headrick, Mike (Angela) Headrick and Joe Headrick, all of Tallmadge, Nicole Hamler of Hawthorne, CA., Crystal Dolly of Akron, Kim (Dujuan) McClendon of Tallmadge, Christopher Moore and Jessica Moore of Akron and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Louise (Tom) Montgomery of Akron and brother, French (Lois) Armstrong of French Creek, WV plus numerous nieces and nephews in her circle of family and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M. WEDNESDAY at the Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church, 1690 Hillside Ter Akron, OH 44305 with Rev. Paul Beal officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St., TUESDAY from 5 until 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
