Theda Horak

 

Theda Horak, 82, passed away December 16, 2007. She was born February 13, 1925, in Allen, Oklahoma, and worked for the War Department in Washington D.C. during World War II.

She came to Akron in 1946 and worked for NMR Corp. and Firestone Steel Products Co. She was also a 60-year member of the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and was a member of
the Spiral Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Edward Wallace and Carrie Faye Nickell Wallace; brother, Jodie Wallace; sisters, Amogene Decker and Louise Nix; and husbands, Francis Romeyn and Joseph Horak.

She is survived by her sons, Brian Romeyn, of Mentor, OH, Kevin (Trina) Romeyn, of Astoria, OR, Joel (Judith) Horak, of Canal Fulton, OH, Gerald (Sharon) Horak, of Barberton, OH and Kevin (Kathleen) Horak, of Aurora, OH;
sister, Geneva Vinson, of Allen, OK; brother, Ed (Joan) Wallace, of Antlers, OK; grandchildren, John, Chad, Joseph, Hannah and Sarah Horak and Carrie and Leland Romeyn. She is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007, from 3 - 7 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. A memorial service will
be held in her honor on Friday, December 21, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, 1430 Goodyear Blvd., Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, Theda requested donations may be made to the Deacons
Fund at the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church.
