Bobby J. Canterbury

Bobby J. Canterbury, 64, passed away September 20, 2005. Born in Walton, WV, he had been an Akron resident for most of his life where he worked for many years as a long-distance truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose family was his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Frank and Dora; step-dad, Buddy; brother, Ray; and sister, Pearl. He is survived by his brother, Jesse (Bethel); brother-in-law, Junior Atkins; children, Kathryn (Steve "B.H.") Ice, Sandra Legg (special friend Jim), Deanna (Bill) Keys, Bobby Jr. (Bobbinette), Dorene (Lee) Graber and Buddy (Sonja); grandchildren, Krissy, Stephanie, Stevie, Mike, Nikki, Jesse, Wendy, Lee Eric, Mike, Ashley, Justin and Malina (Babydoll); great-grandson, Nathan (Sunshine); and many other loving relatives and friends.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of the life of Bob and his late wife, Karen, will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005, at 7 p.m., at 834 Eastland Ave., Akron, OH 44305.
