Donald E. Christ

Donald E. Christ, 56, a selfless, loving and caring gentleman, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2005, surrounded by his loving wife, daughters and family.

He was a lifelong Akron resident and was a graduate of South High. He worked for ALCOA in Cleveland, and was an active, 35-year member of the Apostolic Church of Barberton, serving as an usher. He loved traveling with his wife and dear friends, Fred and Meggie Tenney, especially to Amish country. He also had a passion for sports, earning his beloved nickname "Shamu" during his years of playing baseball, and he loved horseshoes and golfing with his partner and buddy, "Big Jack".

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mae, and his father-in-law, Walter Tudor. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 34 years, "Tudy" Marian; daughters, Tina (Craig) Speicher and Tiffany Dawn, of Massillon; grandpa's little princess and the apple of his eye, Jessica Lynn; his "sweetheart" and loving mother-in-law, Ruthie Tudor ; brothers, Tom (Mary) and Fred (Patti); sisters, Sharon (Rick) Barrett, Patty (Ron) Evans, Dianne (Jerry) Werner and Peggy (Jeff) Zolot; brothers-in-law, Walter "Jr." (Lex) Tudor, of FL and Dennis Tudor; special aunts and uncles, Jerry and Lucy Ferrell and Ronnie and Grace Ferrell; and a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Apostolic Church of Barberton, 1717 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Barberton, OH 44203, with Bishop Nelson F. Pamer, Rev. Rodney V. Pamer and Rev. Nelson Carter officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., on Wednesday, November 2, from 3 - 7 p.m. and at the church for one hour prior to the service, from 10 - 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Apostolic Church of Barberton Building Fund.

To know Donnie was to love him. Even though he is now with Jesus, for those of us who knew and loved him, he will always be with us in our hearts.
