Betty J. Feicht

Betty J. Feicht, 87, passed away June 13, 2006. She was born in Akron and was a lifelong resident where she was a 1936 graduate of Central High School. She also graduated from the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing in 1939, and became a registered nurse. She was a long-time and active member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, was a devoted homemaker with a love of sewing for her home and her family, and greatly enjoyed writing poetry. She had a special bond with nature, acquiring her fondness by fishing as a young girl, and she always loved hand-feeding the chipmunks and birds.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and parents, Jim and Mae Stone, she is survived by her daughter, Karen (Brian) Eckart; grandson, Michael (Katie); and sisters, Virginia (Chet) Kolk, of Greensburg, PA and Dorothy (Hilton) Hettmansperger, of Albuquerque, NM.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 Eastwood Ave., Akron, OH 44305, with Rev. Jay Schmidt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emmanuel United Church of Christ OR the Rockynol Retirement Community Life Care Fund.
