Franklin L. Gohlke

Franklin L. Gohlke, 81, of Springfield Twp., passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2006, after several years of declining health.

A life resident of the Akron area and a WWII Navy veteran, Frank retired from Goodyear Aerospace with 30 years of service, working primarily with the Goodyear blimps and F15 trainers. He was a founding member of Tallmadge First Church of God, a charter member of The Akron Model T Club, and a member of The Lighter-Than-Air Society.

Preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters, Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma (Wein); sons, Gary (Sharon) of Carson City, NV., Craig (Beth) of New Franklin and Martin, of Akron; grandsons, Cary, James, Brian, Daniel and Christopher; 7 great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.

Family and friends may call TODAY, May 5, 2006, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p. m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, at 11:00 a. m., with Pastors John Phillips and William Wimmer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
