Anna J. Beres, 80, went home to be with her personal savior, Jesus Christ, on January 11, 2017 surrounded by friends and family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Barberton on September 16, 1936, Anna was a proud alumnus of Barberton High School. After graduation, she worked at Goodyear, where she met her future husband of 48 years, Arthur W. Beres. She had a love for life, and loved traveling the country with Art. She enjoyed crafts, hummingbirds, and singing in the church choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, Russell and Lillian (Slisher) Jewitt; brother, Lawrence; sister, Ruth Shelkofsky; and granddaughter, Elizabeth. She will be dearly missed by her children, Brenda (Paul), Bill (Jackie), Sharone (Todd), and Keith (Nancy). Also left behind to cherish her love and memories are 14 grandchildren, lifelong friends, Barb, Gloria, and Marylin, and dear family member, Tammy.

The family would like to thank the staff of Danbury Woods Assisted Living for the extraordinary care and love that they provided Anna.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Aaron Furman officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday for two hours prior to the service, from 1 - 3 p.m. Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations my be made to the Haven of Rest.
