Margaret E. (Grise) Casebier

November 2, 1923 ~ August 17, 2016 (age 92) 92 Years Old


Margaret Elizabeth (Grise) Casebier, 92 went to be with her Lord on August, 17, 2016.  She was a life-long Baptist, whose sustaining faith led her home in peace.  Born November 2, 1923 in Drakesboro, KY to the late Bernie and Bessie (Browning) Grise, Margaret was the eldest of eight children. She married Dewey Baker Casebier, the love of her life, in 1941 and moved to Akron, Ohio where she was a homemaker, amazing baker and member of Eastern Star. She was very talented in the art of crocheting and embroidery, gifting family members with beautiful afghans.

While in Akron, Margaret and Dewey celebrated 58 years of happy marriage. Shortly after Dewey’s passing, Margaret moved to Hawthorne, NJ where she resided for the past 13 years.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey Baker Casebier; loving son, Dewey Benjamin Casebier; brothers, Frank, James, Ben and Newman Grise; sisters, Jeanette Hall and Mary Haley. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Debra Ann Roper and husband, Bill; brother, Howard Grise and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Michael Klapper, Dwayne Casebier and wife Anna, Erin DiCresce and husband Ted, Lisa Schortzmann and her husband Craig; great-grandchildren; Jake, Kylie and Luke DiCresce, Sloane Schortzmann, Charlie, Barbara, Steve, Jennifer, Jordin and Justin Casebier.

A private graveside service was held at Rose Hill Burial Park.
