Rev. Charles T. Hunt, 84, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of April 8, 2017. Born in Belgium Congo, Africa to missionaries William and Anna Mae (Downey) Hunt, he had resided in the Akron area since 1961 and pastored the Fulton Street Community Church for 29 years. He also taught at the Pittsburgh Bible Institute and ministered at the Summit County Jail. After pastoring on Fulton Street, he continued to minister in the community whenever given the opportunity, since he loved serving the Lord and people. He later became the Visitation Pastor at Celebration Church (formerly Evangel Temple) in Akron up through early 2016. His lifelong passion was sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was also a U. S. Army Veteran and really enjoyed spending time with his family as well as animals, traveling, fishing and playing games. Preceded in death by sister, Grace Hunt; brother, John; grandsons, Robert and Jonathan. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Vera; sons, Robert (Emma) and Daniel (Jane); daughter, Virginia Hunt; grandchildren, Nathan, Luke, Philip, Kaitlin, Sarah and Emmalee; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, April 12 between the hours of 3 and 7 at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will take place Thursday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Celebration Church, 688 Dan St., where friends may call for ONE HOUR prior to the service from 9 - 10 a.m. Son Daniel and Pastors Michael Mancari and Faron Cole will officiate. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
