Rev. Joe Dillon, 89, was received into God’s loving arms on September 24, 2016. He was born in Sharondale, Ky to the late Texie (Smith) and Hiram Dillon one of 14 children and was an Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Madonna; son, Thomas Jeff; sisters, Goldie, Mattie, Imojean, Gertrude, and Charlene; and brothers, Junior, Frank and Hogan.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol; children, Joe Jr., Edward, Linda Morgan, Debra Garcia, Marie Holsey, Lydia (David) Freed, Paul (Nanci) Noonan, Marshall (Kimberly), Marilyn (Wayne) Cutlip, Elizabeth (Lee) Neal, Adam, and Russell Everhart; 46 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren.

Rev. Dillon was founder and Pastor of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ for over 46 years and was proud of the church sponsored food pantry, which provided food for hundreds of families. He conducted radio ministry for 25 years and was inducted into the Radio Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2005, and also ministered on television for 3 years. He was employed at Bernard Pipeline for 25 years and Jackmus Plumbing and Heating for 5 years.

He never failed to declare Christ and Him crucified. Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor David Shultz officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Interment at Massillon Rose Hill Cemetery.
