Tara Lynn Clossman, 25, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2016. She was born in Akron, Ohio on August 10, 1991 to Robert and Kathy Clossman.

Tara’s passion for dance began at the age of 5 at McCardle’s Dance Studio and continued throughout her adult life where she remained a devoted teacher, member of the studio’s competitive dance team and mentor to the next generation of the studio’s dance family.

Tara graduated from Firestone High School in 2010 where she was a member of FHS’ Visual and Performing Arts Program, with a dance concentration. Throughout high school she student taught for McCardle’s and participated in the Rockette’s Summer Dance intensive at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for two summers. In 2014, she graduated from Kent State University, summa cum laude, with her degree in Early Childhood Education as well as her fourth and fifth grade endorsement. Upon her graduation, she started her teaching career with the Akron Public School Systems at Voris Community Learning Center. In her first full year of teaching, Tara was the recipient of the PTA Outstanding Educator Award.

Tara is survived by her parents, Robert and Kathy Clossman; brother, Luke (Nesrene) Clossman; sister, Mei (Kirk) Goodson; sister, Cindy (Trent) Sapper; grandmother, Marla Border; nephews and nieces (that she loved dearly), Gage, Kendra, Kylie, Matthew, and Zayn; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, best friends, Sarah, Abby, and Leah, as well as her dance family at McCardle’s Dance Studio. She is preceded in death by her brother, Matthew; grandfather, Jack Border; grandparents, Robert and Mary Lou Clossman.

Family and friends may call at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Pastor Ron Shultz will conduct services at 11 a.m. at Family of Faith United Methodist Church, 800 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Interment to follow at Hartville Mt. Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Victim Assistance Program, 150 Furnace St., Akron, OH 44304.
