Our beloved Tina Marie Savage, 44, passed away January 3, 2024. She was born in Akron and was a 1998 Springfield High School graduate. She accomplished a rare high school double, winning state championships in both basketball and softball. She was named 1st team all Ohio and earned a full ride scholarship to Rollins College in Florida where she became the only player in history to earn back-to-back Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year awards. She was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. Tina was a person that was uplifting and had a smile and personality that would light up the room. She would go out of her way to help others, and made friends wherever she was. We are so proud to call her a sister, daughter, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend. We will think about every day, and she left a tremendous impact on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her parents, Charles and Gloria; sister, Rosemarie; brother, Jason and his son, Charlie; aunts and uncles, Terry (Phil) Meinen, Chris (Bob) Carver, Richard (Ann) Savage, Anna Savage and Janet Savage; and many other loving relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Hibernian Club, 2000 Brown St., Akron, OH 44319. A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. immediately followed by a time of remembrance until ? Contributions for a tribute to Tina's life can be made to the parents.
