Dorothy (Carnell) Schmitz

Dorothy Schmitz, 82, peacefully went Home to be with the Lord at her residence on June 30, 2005.

Born in Yeager, WV, she resided in the Akron area most of her life and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. with 30 years of service. Dorothy was a member of The Chapel, where she belonged to a Bible Study Group. She also loved cooking, reading and was an avid golfer.

Preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Sue and husband, Henry W. Schmitz, she will be sadly missed by son, George Jr. (Sherry) Carnell; grandchildren, James (fiance Kristen) Carnell, Karen (Frank) Silvestri; great grandchildren, Anthony and Alex; step-children, Barbara Schmitz Laughlin, Paul (Mary Ann) Schmitz, Dick (Dana Herreman) Schmitz, John (Cathy) Schmitz; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 5, at 12 noon, at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Jim Dull officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for ONE HOUR prior to service time from 11 to 12 noon.
