Betty Lee Schopper

Betty Lee (Rudolich) Schopper, 93, passed away at her home on Friday, December 21, 2018. She is eternally reunited with her beloved husband, John, to whom she was married for 60 years.

Betty was born May 25, 1925 in Moundsville, West Virginia, the daughter of Daniel and Marie (LeMasters) Rudolich. She grew up in Akron and spent her adult life there working at RCA Rubber, Goodyear, Lawson's and Schwebel's Bakery for 20 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Schartiger, sister Nellie 'Tiny' Franzi, and love of her life, John Elie Schopper. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Isner, Dennis W. (Karen) Schopper, Karen (Dave) Zirkle, John D. (Maria) Schopper, Dawn (Clint) Whitney, and Mei Ling (Wallace) Choy; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews. She wanted to thank Dale and Kathy Schopper for serving as her caregivers the last few years of her life, and special friends, Linda Thomas, Sue Banyar, Cindy and David Alcorn, and Adam and Ann Braun. 

Betty said her proudest moments in life were the births of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. All who knew Betty can attest to her love for her family, and she was the happiest watching them grow and hearing about their lives. 

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Michael Mancari officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday for two hours prior to the service, from 12 - 2 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
