Evelyn D. (Dennis) Melton

Evelyn D. Melton, 87, passed away February 27, 2018.  Born in Overton County, TN to the late Clura Sr. and Inis (Willen) Dennis, she lived in Akron all of her adult life. 

Evelyn enjoyed her career as a beautician, was a member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church an was avid bowler in both summer and winter leagues. She loved road trips to Tennessee and Kentucky and above all else, loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Otis; son, Michael; and brother, C.J. Dennis Jr. She is survived by her son, Steve (Barbara) and daughter, Mona (Rodney Hartwell); grandchildren, Lacey, Steve, David, Christopher, Erik, Jeremy, Dawn, Michele and Coty; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Gerry and Pat Hudson; and several loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Stearns officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
