George D. Davis

George David Davis, 77, passed away December 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born on October 19, 1941 in Belsano, PA to the late George and Twila (Rummel) Davis. He lived on the family dairy farm in Colver, PA until graduating from Central Cambria High School, Ebensburg, PA., in 1959.  

After graduating, he moved to Cuyahoga Falls, OH and retired from the Ford Motor Plant in Walton Hills after 48 years. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and UAM.  George touched the lives of all who knew and loved him and he will forever be remembered for his enormous sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert, and siblings, Nancy Loughran, Donald, Janet Shaffer and two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary (Oldaker); children, Georgia (Maudie) Maldonado, of CO and David, of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Amy and Brendan Paravecchio and Samantha Davis; step-children, William (Laura) Darby and Roscoe Lemon (Melinda Shannon); seven step-grandchildren;  sisters, Alice Buckler and Elsie Kirkpatrick; brother, Larry (Nancy); and sister-in-law, Ronna.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 11 am - 1 pm. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
