Josephine “Jo Jo” S. Monk, 81, passed away October 7, 2017 at Fairlawn Rehab & Nursing Center. Born in Akron to Frank and Sophie (Hitty) Klansek, she was a lifelong area resident and previously worked in the dinette at Polsky’s. Jo was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and more recently was extremely active at Fairlawn R. & N. Ctr., where she was a friend to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ronald; sister, Shirley Klansek; and brother, Robert Klansek. Jo will be sadly missed by her brothers, Ed, Frank and Bill Klansek; close friends, Joanne (Gary) Bases, along with many other friends at Fairlawn R. & N. Ctr.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will take place Thursday, October 19th at Guardian Angels Church, 1676 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd. in Copley at 10 a.m. Private inurnment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.
