Marilyn J. Turner, 70, passed away November 3, 2018. She was born in Akron to the late George and Dorothy (Newman) Wigington and was a Springfield High School graduate.
Marilyn worked for many years as floral designer, was a dispatcher for the Suffield Fire Department for 10 years and most recently, was a bus driver for Field Local Schools. She loved spending time with her family and playing games on her computer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sister, Sandra Tressel; and brother, George “Butch” Wigington. She is survived by her children, Tracy (Jeff) Carmer and Rick (Robin) Turner; grandchildren, Kassandra, Jacob, Megan and Ava; brother, Kenneth (Janet) Wigington; and other relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will immediately follow calling hours at 7 p.m., with Pastor Jim Roma officiating. Private family burial at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Akron Children’s Hospital Children’s Miracle Network.
