Paul E. Trommer, 97, passed away January 25, 2017. Born in Akron to the late Edward and Fannie Trommer, he was a lifelong area resident and an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Paul grew up in and was an active member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Akron and was a current member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls. He retired from the U.S. Post Office with over 30 years service as a mail carrier, and loved gardening and especially, his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; sisters, Ruth and Margaret. He is survived by his children, Sally Layman, Nancy Randall (the late Harry) and Richard Trommer (the late Fran); grandchildren, Sharon, Brian (Whitney), Carolyn (Michael), Kevin (Tazha), Michelle (Craig), Michael (Brandi) and Jeff (Kim); and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Gavin, Camille, Carlee, Courtney, Ashley, Ayden and Addyson.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 2121 6th Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 with Pastor Francine Lantz officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park where military honors will be given by American Legion Post 281. At the request of Mr. Trommer and his family, funeral services and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 5966 Heisley Rd., Mentor, OH 44060
