Robert “R.D.” D. Sutphin, 92, passed away August 15, 2017 at Altercare of Wadsworth. Born in Tams, WV to Robert and Ida (Sheppard) Sutphin he had resided in the Akron area many years and was a retired truck mechanic. R.D. was a people person and was always smiling. He also loved sweets, boating, walking the Metropolitan Parks and spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by wife, Emma; brother, Ernest; and son in-law, Jesse Neuhauser, he will be sadly missed by daughters, Barbara Neuhauser, and Linda (Dale) Michalske; grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Neuhauser, Stacy (Brad) Johnson, Christine (Dave) Rennie, Bryan (Melissa) Neuhauser and Jenny (Jeff) Underwood; great grandchildren, Grant, Bryce, Brady, Brooke, Grace Kendyll, Brielle, Emily, Madilyn.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 21st from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 22nd at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Shultz officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
