William G. Bond, born June 5, 1923 to the late Homer and Marna (Hartline), was promoted to Glory on February 16, 2018 at the age of 94. He was a proud World War II Army veteran 3rd Cavalry gunner and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber with 38 years of service.
Bill was a 50-year member and past master of the Akron-Coventry Masonic Lodge 83 and past master of the Scottish Rite Valley of Akron. He was also a soldier of the Salvation Army.
Preceded in death by his wife, Esther and sister, Evelyn, he is survived by his niece, Cindy (Leo) Bittner; caregivers, Terry and Pebble Sellers; sister, Betty; and other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Commissioners Larry and Gill Bosh officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, 1006 Grant St., Akron, OH 44311.
