William Donovan Rountree II

Raconteur Bill Rountree, 86, left the planet at 6 am 20 April 2018. He checked out of room 103 at Rockynol to continue his eternal odyssey. This family has the highest respect for and most sincere loving thanks to all those who assisted him in the last few months at Rockynol, especially Flora.

Born 23 May 1931 the only son of the late Mable and Bill, he lived a long, colorful life knowing many. He had a yen for music, theater, sports and entertainment … and a good garage sale. Born a free spirit, he made friends easily. But he was never really free. Those who knew him, recognized his unique perspective. Like Frank, he did it his way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bruce, and Rosemary. He leaves behind his children, William III, Heather and John; grandchildren, Travis, Grace and Ariel; great-granddaughter, Catalina; Daryl and Shannon; special friends, Betty, Bethanne, Jeannie and Shirley.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, 23 May 2018, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St.
