Alice (Clapper) Bennett

January 3, 1920 — February 7, 2011

Alice C. Bennett, 91, passed away February 7, 2011.  Born in Yellow Creek, PA, she lived in the Akron area since 1941.  She retired from Goodyear in 1982 with 32 years of service.

Alice was proud of doing her patriotic duty as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWll, working on the Goodyear FG-1 Corsair.  She was an avid bowler on various Goodyear teams, and a long-time member of the First Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ned O.; sons, Gary Lee (Jacqueline) and Kenneth C. (Rebecca); 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Gary Lorenz officiating.  Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.
