Anita Ann Myers

Anita Ann Myers, 84, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH with her family by her side. She was born in Akron to the late Russell and Harriet (Flinn) Bailey, was a 1959 Coventry High School graduate and was a long-time member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church. Having lived in Akron for many years, she relocated to Hilliard nine years ago to be closer to her daughter.

Anita had a remarkable gift for connecting with others. Loving and inclusive, she considered everyone a friend and made strangers feel instantly welcome. Children, especially her grandchildren, filled her heart with joy, and animals always held a tender spot within her. A devout follower of Jesus, she was also a dedicated prayer warrior. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Myers, her brother, Jon Bailey, and step-daughter, Kathy Myers. Her memory is a source of comfort and joy for those who remain, including her children, Robin Schrock and Russ (Joan) Schrock; step-son, Jerry (Jermayn) Myers; grandchildren, Joseph (Linda) Rinal, Tonya (Mike) Paulen, Michael (Mila) Myers, Clayton (Kate) Myers, Spencer (fiancé, Brenna) Schrock, Ian (Emma) Schrock, and Hunter (Natalie) Schrock;  7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Pam Bailey; several nieces and nephews; her beloved significant other, Stanley Matthews; and many, many loving friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44312 with Rev. Joe Burkhardt officiating. Calling hours will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service, from 10:30 – 11:30 am. Private burial at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wedgewood United Methodist Church.
