Anthony R. Casmirre, 82, passed away September 13, 2011. He was born in Dennison, OH to the late Fiorindo and Elisabetta (Ruffini) and had been an Akron resident since the early 1950’s. Tony was an Army veteran of the Korean War and graduated from Akron University with a degree in business. He worked at B & O Railroad and retired from CSX (where he belonged to NARVE), and was a member of the Stow VFW and of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He also enjoyed tennis, golf, skiing and hiking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; sister, Mary Conconi; and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; brothers, Reynold and Armond (Alice); sister, Rose Flanagan; step-son, Ron Hudson; and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 206 N. 1st St., Dennison, OH 44621 with Fr. Anthony Lonzo officiating. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 15, at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St., from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 10 – 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church.
