Barbara J. Hilton, 78, passed away October 1, 2015. Born in Akron to the late John and Anna (Garnick) Postiach, she graduated from Garfield High School in 1954. Barbara worked as a secretary for the City of Akron and retired from the IGA on Copley Road, where she will be greatly missed by many friends. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by husband, Frank Douglas Hilton; brother, John Postiach; and granddaughters, Christine Postiach and Anna Karam, she will be sadly missed by her son, Jim (Betty) Postiach, daughter, Patty Ann (Bill) Smith; grandchildren, Sherrie, Melissa, Tyler and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Postiach; sister, Mary Ann Shipley; niece, Dawn; nephew, Artie; and great niece, Avery.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St., where friends may call TWO HOURS prior to the service from 4 – 6 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
