Betty J. Russell

Betty J. Russell, 97, passed away August 24, 2026. She was born in Albany, OH to the late Edwin and Clista (Staneart) Zimmerman and was an Albany High School graduate.

Betty retired from Akron Social Services and was a member of Milheim United Church of Christ. She also enjoyed traveling and doing crosswords. She was smart, independent and thoughtful and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Fisher, Clara Hutchison and Mary Redman. She is survived by her children, Larry (Anicia) and Karen (John); granddaughter, Emily (Dan); and great-granddaughter, Vivian.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
