Betty S. Peterman, 93, passed away February 17, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Akron to the late Fred and Bessie (Jensen) Schweiker, she was a lifelong resident where she was a graduate of East High School.
Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth K. Peterman and brother, Carl Schweiker, she is survived by her daughter, Karen (Roy) DePalo; sisters, Helen Lapham and Jean Butler; nephews, Rick Butler and Don Peterman; nieces, Judy Hurr, Sue Sonntag and special thanks to niece, Debbie Gottas; and several great-nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of VNS for their exceptional care and concern of Betty.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St, with Pastor Jean Hansen officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333 or the American Cancer Society.
