Brenda Joan (Croy) Ebie

February 27, 1943 — March 29, 2016

Brenda Joan Ebie (née Croy) 73, of Brimfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, surrounded by her family.  She was born February 27, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to John H. and Lily J. Croy and grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio, graduating from Tallmadge High School in 1961. She married David A. Ebie of Brimfield, Ohio in 1966 and was looking forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary on September 3, 2016. Brenda’s first job was as a carhop at the A&W Rootbeer stand at the Tallmadge Circle.  She then worked for General Tire & Rubber Company in the HR department and later as Secretary/Treasurer at the Mogadore Baptist Church.  For many years, she was the accountant and office manager for the family business, Dave Ebie Heating and Cooling.
Brenda had a love for antique reed (pump) organs and had the privilege to hold several offices, including President, in the Reed Organ Society, an international organization of reed organ collectors, performers, and enthusiasts.  She was an author of many published historical articles on the reed organ, as well as a highly talented photographer.  Her photographs have appeared in print and online and have been reproduced for display in a number of commercial establishments.

Preceded in death by her parents, Brenda is survived by her husband Dave Ebie, son Brian (Laura) Ebie, and two granddaughters whom she loved very much.  She is also survived by her brother Errol Croy of Winterhaven, FL and step children Greg Ebie of Brimfield, Brenda Metzger of Winterhaven, FL, and Jeff Ebie of Richmond, VA and their respective sons and daughters.
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend.  She had an infectious laugh that enlivened any room and displayed a quiet yet deep faith in her Savior. She loved life and lived each day to the fullest, admiring the beauty in her flower gardens and in sunrises and sunsets, snowfalls, cloudy days, and autumn leaves.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2776 Hartville Rd, Rootstown, OH 44272 with the Rev. Dr. Eugene F. Higgins (ret.) of Mogadore Christian Church officiating.
