Carl F. Blasdel, 90, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2015. He was born in Akron to the late Kenneth and Hermina (Myers) Blasdel, was a Garfield High School graduate and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Carl was an active member of Brown St. Baptist Church for 52 years, worked at Skorman’s Miracle Mart for 20 years and retired from Berean Christian Bookstore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie; sisters, Roberta and Marion; brother, Kenneth; and son-in-law, Ron Victor. He is survived by his children, Frank (Nancy), Chuck (Cheryl), Tom (Karen), Donna Victor, Pat (Kim), Rob (Kelly) and Brenda (John) Bailey; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, November 16 at 12 noon with Pastor Robert L. Kuhns officiating, with calling hours for one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. – 12 noon. Burial with full military honors will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carl to Hope Baptist Church, 1822 Highview Ave., Akron, OH 44301 or to the Gideon’s International Ministries.
