Carla Moro Sarvabui went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at her residence in Ridley Park, PA, at the age of 83. She was joyfully greeted by her Savior, and celebrated a grand reunion with her parents, her husband of 34 years, her unborn children, and family and friends.
Carla was born in Milan, Italy, to Francesco and Emma Rose (Fiori) Moro on November 29, 1930. She married the love of her life on July 3, 1954, and moved to Caracas, Venezuela. She later immigrated to the United States in 1957 and lived first in Greensburg, PA, and then Akron, OH, from 1960 to 2008, when she moved to PA. A retired seamstress, she had a brilliant mind and loved to spend her day sewing. She previously worked for Canterbury Clothiers (Fairlawn), Colonial Shoe Repair (Copley), O’Neil’s (Akron), and Charlotte West (Fairlawn) and belonged to the Akron First Assembly of God church.
Carla had a strong faith in God and deeply loved her family. She enjoyed chauffeuring her children in the 1970s to local churches and Christian coffee houses so they could sing for the Lord. She loved singing in the church choir, listening to gospel music, and spent time keeping current on political interests. In addition to being a loving, dedicated wife and mother, Carla was a devoted Christian for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mariuccia Collio in 2001; her loving and devoted husband, Sebastiano in 1989; and four children that she miscarried. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Sebastian Frank (Jana) Sarvabui of Lincoln, NE; her daughter and son-in-law Josephina Emma (Kenneth) Banner of Prospect Park, PA.; grandchildren, Bethany (Matthew) Austin, Andrea Sarvabui, Kelly Sarvabui; great-granddaughter Harmony Austin; and nieces and nephews in Italy and Venezuela.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, November 21 one hour prior to the service. Kenneth J. Banner will officiate.
