Carol S. Snyder

Carol S. Snyder, 82, passed away December 6, 2024. She was born in Akron to the late George Sr. and Eva (Dakovich) Mihaly and earned a bachelors degree in Education from the University of Akron.

Carol retired from Akron Public Schools, having taught at Firestone Park Elementary for over 20 years and serving as a substitute for 10 more. She volunteered at the Akron Public Library for 12 years and was a long-time member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.

She is survived by her son, Benjamin; grandchildren, Emma and Gerika; sisters, Mary Mihaly and Margaret (Dan) Fagan; and many other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; son, Michael; and brother, George Mihaly Jr.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, December  11, 2024 from 5 – 7 p.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, OH 44260 with Parastas at 7:00. The funeral will be at church on Thursday, December 12, at 11 a.m. with Father Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating, with calling hours from 10-11 a.m. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery on Krumroy Rd.
