Charlotte J. “Jackie” Wallis, 86, passed away February 14, 2013. She was born in Fort Gay, WV to the late Tony and Lena (Harwood) Philpott and lived in Akron since the age of 2. She graduated from Hammel Business College, enjoyed her career as a secretary and also loved bowling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; brothers, Tommy Philpott and Bobby Philpotts; and sister, Lola Spangler. She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Luke) Booher and Vicky (John) Pirt; grandchildren, Doug, Steven, Michael, Kevin and Lena; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Art (Euna) Hetrick and Richard (Nikki) Hetrick; sister, Lois (Preston) Stewart; sister-in-law, JoAnn; and many other loving relatives.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Michael Mancari officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 17, from 1 – 3 p.m.
