Sometime yesterday morning, July 17, 2011, our beloved son Christopher passed away in his sleep at the age of but 40 years. Anyone that knew Chris knows that there wasn’t a more fun-loving, generous, kinder-hearted person on earth and that he lived life to the fullest. The loss that his mother, brother and myself feel at this time is tremendous, but the wonderful memories we have of him can never be taken away or replaced.
Chris was a 1989 graduate of St. Vincent St. Mary High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Hilbert College in Buffalo, NY. He had been a service advisor at Kent Lincoln Mercury and Mazda of Kent for many years, and currently served as a manager at Chelsea’s on the River in Cuyahoga Falls.
Chris was also an accomplished athlete, earning varsity letters in both baseball and soccer in high school, and was an integral part of many local championship softball teams over the years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland and Lucille Ayres and George W. and Alice Caudill. He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Janet; brother, Brian (Lisa); niece and nephews, Amanda, James and Matthew; dogs Max and Bosley; and a tremendous number of dear friends, especially those close to him from Chelsea’s.
A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St., with Fr. Joseph Kraker officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 21, from 3 – 8 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
