Christy M. Lautzenheiser

Christy M. Lautzenheiser, 89, passed away January 7, 2024. She was born in Canton, OH to the late Calvin and Bernice (Foltz) Lillie and was a bus driver for Field Local Schools for over 10 years.

Christy was a long-time, active member of South Arlington United Methodist Church, where she served every leadership position within the church. She was especially proud of her involvement with “her kids” in the youth group as well as the food pantry. She also loved being a part of the David Hill Mothersingers. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; granddaughter, Jessica; and sister-in-law, Catherine. She is survived by her children, Terry (Cristine) Lautzenheiser, Faye (Lee) Wetherbee and Wade (Karen) Lautzenheiser; grandchildren, Christopher Wetherbee (Taylor DeClerico), Sarah Wetherbee (Marcus Alleshouse), Tyler Lautzenheiser (Ariel Corpman), Adam (Rachel) Lautzenheiser, and Ella and Madigan Lautzenheiser; great-grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin, and Caleb Loy and Avery Lautzenheiser; brother-in-law, R. Dale Lautzenheiser and her “Texas kids” Kenny, Diane, Carol and Steven.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 16 at 10 a.m. at South Arlington United Methodist Church, 790 S. Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306 with Rev. Ron Shultz  and Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Interment at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Arlington United Methodist Church in memory of Christy.
